What We Treat

Elbow, wrist and hand pain treatment in Carpentersville.

When gripping a coffee cup or turning a key starts to hurt, the cause is often further up the arm. It is fixable, and it starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a guess.

Sound Familiar?

Does this sound like you?

  • Your grip giving out on a jar you opened fine last year
  • A dull ache from the elbow into the forearm by Wednesday afternoon
  • Pins and needles in the hand that wake you at 2am
  • Switching the coffee cup to your other hand without thinking about it
  • Pain the day after a long stint of typing, mousing, or gripping a tool
  • A brace that helps a bit, and only while you wear it

Why It Happens

Elbow and wrist pain is a symptom. Something causes it.

Tissue at the elbow and wrist gets sore when it is asked for more than it can currently handle. The interesting question is why the demand went up, and the answer is often further up the arm: a shoulder not carrying its share, a neck irritating a nerve that supplies the hand, or grip strength that quietly dropped.

Treating only the painful tendon is why these problems come back. A cause-first evaluation looks at the whole chain from neck to fingertips and finds what changed.

The Honest Truth

These do not fix themselves with rest alone.

If you keep waiting

  • Tendon problems get more stubborn the longer they are left, not less
  • You start avoiding the movement, and grip strength drops further
  • Nerve symptoms that come and go can settle in and stay

If you start this week

  • You know the actual cause by the end of visit one
  • Hands-on relief starts at your very first visit
  • You get a plan with an endpoint: a real one, not an open tab of visits

Nobody regrets starting too early. Plenty of people here wish they had started sooner.

How We Fix It

The same four phases. Built for your arm.

Every plan has an endpoint. Here is what the four phases look like for an elbow, wrist or hand.

Weeks 1–2

Pain

Calm the pain down.

Hands-on work on the irritated tissue, plus practical changes so you can keep working while it settles.

Weeks 2–6

Prime

Get your motion back.

Restoring motion at the wrist, elbow, shoulder and neck, wherever the testing says the restriction actually is.

Weeks 6–10

Perform

Make it strong enough to trust.

Progressive loading of the tendon and the grip, which is what makes the tissue tolerant rather than just quiet.

Weeks 10+

Prevent

Return better than before.

We change what overloaded it in the first place, whether that is a tool, a desk or a technique, and test it before you are cleared.

My mom had pain in her arm for over 6 months. Between numerous chiropractor visits and massages the pain was still there. She gave Maxicare a try and after two sessions she has been completely pain free.

Elbow, Wrist & Hand Pain, no runaround.

Sometimes a brace helps for a while, but on its own it manages the symptom. We would rather find out why the tissue got overloaded, which is often somewhere else entirely: the shoulder, the neck, or how you hold a tool all day. A scan is rarely the first step.

No, and you probably could not anyway. The plan is to change how much load goes through the painful tissue rather than shutting your hands down, so you can keep working while it settles.

Most patients see a significant reduction in pain within six visits. A full plan for elbow, wrist and hand pain runs through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform and Prevent, and you will always know which phase you are in and what is left. That is a plan with an endpoint, not an open-ended string of appointments.
