Weeks 1–2
Pain
Calm the pain down.
Testing to identify which ear and which canal, then the specific manoeuvre that matches the finding. This part can move quickly.
What We Treat
Feeling unsteady is not something you have to accept with age. Balance is trainable. It is fixable, and it starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a guess.

Why It Happens
Balance draws on three things: the inner ear, your vision, and the sense of where your joints are in space. When one of them misreports, you feel unsteady. Positional vertigo has a specific mechanical cause in a specific canal of a specific ear. Age-related unsteadiness is usually about strength and sensory input rather than anything sinister.
Our clinical director is certified in vestibular and concussion rehabilitation by the American Balance Institute and as a Certified Exercise Expert for the Aging Adult. Identifying which system is at fault is the whole job, because the treatment for each is different.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. Plenty of people here wish they had started sooner.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here is what the four phases look like for dizziness and unsteadiness.
Weeks 1–2
Pain
Testing to identify which ear and which canal, then the specific manoeuvre that matches the finding. This part can move quickly.
Weeks 2–6
Prime
Progressive exercises that give your brain the signals it needs to trust the inner ear again, at a dose we control.
Weeks 6–10
Perform
Leg and hip strengthening plus single-leg control, because balance is a strength problem as much as a sensory one.
Weeks 10+
Prevent
We take it onto stairs, uneven ground and head turns while walking, and test it before you are cleared.
I needed help in identifying which ear and which canal were affected so that it could be addressed with the correct maneuvers. It took three visits back to back to begin to resolve the problem. On my fourth visit I was free of symptoms and had a plan for exercises going forward.

Questions, Answered
No. It is common with age, which is a different thing entirely. Balance is trainable, and our clinical director is certified as an exercise expert for the aging adult by the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy. Unsteadiness that is treated is unsteadiness that stops dictating what you do.
That is a reasonable worry and it is exactly why this happens one-on-one. Someone is with you the entire session, the difficulty only goes up when you have earned it, and nothing gets sprung on you.
Most patients see a significant reduction in pain within six visits. A full plan for balance and gait problems runs through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform and Prevent, and you will always know which phase you are in and what is left. That is a plan with an endpoint, not an open-ended string of appointments.
